I would like to know if this comes under the heading of a portrait using an animal as part of the composition. I love animals and always try and include animals in my paintings but if I was to enter a portrait comp would I be excluded because of it. Thanks Fran

The quicker the sketch, the better to “catch” someone’s personality.
I liked this photo as I could feel a little of that person’s character-wry, shrewd, nobody’s fool, slightly wary (but that maybe about having one’s photo taken)
I try to think of these things when I’m painting or drawing.
